He has been the lead author of many published market reports and has undertaken numerous consulting projects for private sector and government clients worldwide. His focus in recent years has been on tantalum, niobium, hafnium, caesium and scandium. He holds a BA in European Business Administration and a Diplôme d’Études Supérieures Européennes de Management (Middlesex Business School, London, and École Supérieure de Commerce, Reims, France). Patrick is a dual Canadian and British citizen and is based in Québec.

Andrew Matheson

Andrew has 30 years of experience in minor and critical metals, including executive roles in Cabot Croporation’s Supermetals business, as founder and CEO of Nanoscale Powders LLC (a rare-earth and refractory materials manufacturer) and as a consultant to metals and mining companies across the globe. He holds a Ph.D in theoretical physics from Cambridge University and an MBA from Harvard Business School and is based in Boston.

We specialise entirely in minor metals and our primary focus is on a small but growing group of such metals, including tantalum, niobium, scandium, hafnium and caesium. We also possess some expertise in tungsten, tin, magnesium and rare earth metals although on a more limited basis.

None of these metals has a large market in terms of volume or values, certainly not compared to base metals, precious metals or steel alloys, for example, and they have a diverse range of applications.
